The latest guidelines by the Punjab Government mandates at least seven days of institutional quarantine for all international travelers arriving in the state by air, sea or land. Upon arrival the travelers need to submit a self-declaration form containing their personal and health information. All travelers showing symptoms of Covid-19 during the initial screening while entering the state shall be tested for the Coranavirus. If positive they will be isolated in the specially managed Covid care centers. If test results are negative, they continue to be quarantined as per the guidelines.
However for domestic travelers, government eases rules and now they need to exercise self home quarantine for 14 days. Earlier, institutional quarantine was mandatory for all domestic travelers.
The fresh guidelines also clarified that the frequent travelers would not need to quarantine. Frequent travelers were classified as interstate travelers, who need to travel out of Punjab, such as Members of the Parliament and the Legislative Assemblies, salespersons, transporters, doctors, journalists, executives, engineers, traders, and consultants. Though they will need to carry the specially issued E-Travel pass at all times.
