PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate the Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra (RSK) located near Raj Ghat, Delhi on Saturday (August 8). It will be an interactive experience centre on the Swachh Bharat Mission.

The Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra (RSK) is a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and it was first announced by the prime minister on April 10, 2017, on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Gandhiji’s ‘Champaran Satyagraha’.

According to official statement, prime minister will interact with 36 students from Delhi, who will represent the 36 states and union territories, at the RSK’s amphitheatre after visiting RSK, complying with social distancing protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The installations at the RSK will introduce future generations to the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Mission), the world’s largest behaviour change movement.

The balanced combination of digital and outdoor installations in RSK will provide information, awareness and education about swachhata (cleaning) and related aspects. The complex interaction between processes and activities will be presented through interactive learning, assimilated learning, global benchmarks, best practices, topical information and success stories.

In Hall 1, all visitors will experience a unique 360 degree audio-visual performance that will tell the story of Swachhata in India (the journey of the largest behavior change movement in the history of the world).

In Hall 2, a series of interactive LED panels, interactive games, holographic boxes, etc. will install to tell the story of the work done to fulfill Gandhiji’s vision for Swachh Bharat.

The open-air exhibition on the lawn adjacent to RSK will showcase three exhibitions, which are anecdotes of India’s journey from “Satyagraha to Swachhagraha”. The art murals around the center also describe the core elements of the mission’s success.
