Education Minister announces dates for CBSE 2021 Board Exams

On Thursday (Dec 31) evening, the Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal (Nishank) has announced the dates of the CBSE board exams 2021 for class 10 and class 12, putting a full stop on all speculations.

He stated that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams for class 10 and class 12 will be conducted from May 4 to June 10 and the CBSE results will be declared before or after July 15.

The Minister of Education made the announcement during an online session with students. He also confirmed that the CBSE Board will upload the date sheets online on its official website (cbse.nic.in) as soon as possible after the ending of the live session.

The minister urged students to visit the official website of the CBSE for the final 2021 date sheets for both practical and theoretical board examinations.  The minister informed the students that the CBSE has reduced the syllabus for class 10 and class 12 by 30 per cent. At the end of the live session, he also expressed his best wishes to the all students for their upcoming board exams.

The announcement of the dates for CBSE Board Exams 2021 by the Minister of Education was broadcast live on his official Twitter account and on his Facebook page.

Students will now have access to the forthcoming date sheet for CBSE board exams and download it from the official website (cbse.nic.in). Date sheet for CBSE board exams 2021 will be available for Class 10 and Class 12 separately and with the date and time of the exam, as well as other key instructions on the official CBSE website.

Every year, the Central Board of Secondary Education issues the CBSE dates sheets in November and it conducts the CBSE board exams for class 10 and class 12 in February and March. However, the release of the date sheet for CBSE board exams has been delayed this year, due to the impact of school closures and the coronavirus pandemic.

The minister had earlier stated during a press conference that CBSE board exams 2021 will not take place online and will be held as pre-coronavirus pandemic. The physical presence of the students will be necessary in the CBSE board exams. The Minister of Education also said that the CBSE board exams 2021 will not be carried out until February.

The Ministry of Education communicated with around 33 crore students online. The ministry also conducted the exam of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
