Canadian singer and song writer Justin Bieber will give a special performance at the 2020 American Music Awards on this Sunday (Nov 22). This is the first time in last four years, the pop singer will be performing on the stage to celebrate the tenth anniversary of his first performance of his song “Pray” at the awards ceremony.
Justin Bieber’s upcoming performance, brought to fans by T-Mobile, will be a mix of songs, including “Holy” and “Lonely” with special guest Benny Blanco, and other surprises. Apart from Justin Bieber, global superstars such as Shawn Mendes, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby and Bad Bunny are just a few other performers preparing to hit the stage.
American television production company Dick Clark Productions and ABC Entertainment confirmed on Tuesday (Nov 17) that Bad Bunny will be on the stage with Jhay Cortez and Lil Baby will debut on the American Music Awards with his first live performance and hit song “Emotionally Scarred”. Megan Thee Stallion will also make her American Music Awards debut and has an undisclosed track, while Shawn Mendes will deliver a world premiere performance to the audience.
In addition, Jennifer Lopez and Maluma will also take audience to a premiere performance “Pa’Ti” and “Lonely”. They wrote two songs for the upcoming movie Marry Me. Dua Lipa and BTS will also perform at the music event. Moreover, it was recently announced that Katy Perry and Canadian singer The Weeknd will be on the stage and perform on music’s big night.
The 2020 American Music Awards is sponsored by T-Mobile, Xfinity and Cheetos. The music event will be hosted by Taraji P. Henson and will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 08:00 pm on Sunday, November 22.
This year, The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch topped the list with 8 nominations each, while Megan Thee Stallion received 5 nominations. At the same time, Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Doja Cat, Taylor Swift and DaBaby each received 4 nominations. Taylor Swift is the record holder for winning AMA at 29. If she wins any of the 4 nominated categories, she can further consolidate her status as the record holder.
